2011 was a year devoted primarily to 2 goals: (1) as always to become a better painter, and (2) to enter bigger & better national juried shows and competitions to "test the waters" and to increase my visibility and build my resume. To that end, I took a semester-long class with Ron Hicks at the Art Students League of Denver. I painted with an amazing group of artists and learned from an very gifted teacher. Fueled with added inspiration, I entered some prestigious shows and was fortunate enough to be juried in and earn some honors. I always say that I've garnered enough awards to be motivated and had enough rejections to keep me humble.
My goal for 2012 is to again "step it up a notch." I continue to paint, paint, and paint some more. I study and learn, try new techniques, and give back through teaching and mentoring. With a solid body of work, will again enter more shows and seek additional gallery representation.
